Three sitting
rooms on the ground floor enable individuals
to mix with those whose company they prefer.
There is a television in one area, though
this holds little interest for most of our
residents, who prefer to be active. Our carers
encourage card games, indoor ball games, music,
singing, or reading. We have a minibus, which
takes groups out for a drive through the country
lanes, sometimes stopping to feed ducks on
a nearby pond, sometimes stopping to watch
the horses cantering in the fields.

Annual summer
garden party |
Enjoy the fresh
air in secure gardens |
A range of entertainment |
The house has its own
secure gardens and grounds for residents
to stroll about in whenever they like during
the day. There is a network of driveways
and connecting paths, with a rose garden,
and plenty of flowerbeds to make the walk
interesting. For the less active there are
several verandas from which to enjoy the
gardens and views beyond.
Every summer we hold a Garden Party with
a brass band, Morris dancers and other entertainment.
Residents, relatives and friends of the
home all enjoy the day. The home has strong
connections with the local community. Some
residents go to the annual village Senior
Citizen party and garden fetes.
The local vicar and priest
holds services in the home. Christmas at
Wardington is a very special time, with
bell-ringers, carol singers and a Christmas
party.
